The Balcony of Sierra Nevada

Guadix and its region has a priviledged location with its mountains, desert-like area and natural parks. From Trópolis we will explain our visitors our landscape and geography.

From the Mirador our visitors will be able to see:

  • A panoramic view of the south of Sierra Nevada, with its peak Picón de Jerez of 3,100 metres. 
  • The Calahorra Castle.
  • The Mines of Alquife.
  • The basin or Hoya de Guadix and its grove of trees. 
  • The 11th century Cave of Anteojos.
  • The Guadix Cathedral, the churches of Alcudia and Exfiliana and the chapels of San Buenaventura, Las Ánimas and Zalabí.
  • The towns of Alcudia, Exfiliana, La Calahorra, Aldeire, Alquife, Jerez, Albuñan, Guadix, etc.
  • The quarters with cave-houses of the nearby town.

Enjoy this ancient land, its castles, caves and historic places. A millennium of history is waiting for you.
