The revival of a great wine
At the begining of this century there was a revival of the wine production in Granada. The production of wine was always an element present in the province but the industry started to join efforts from 2002 and started the Wine Association of Granada in 2008 with the creation of the Appelation d'origine controllée for the wines of the area.
In this short period of time the wines of the province of Granada have surprised the experts and won prizes in national and international competitions. Granada currently grows 5,500 hectares of vineyards and has 20 well-established bodegas.
The reason for this sucess is the "know-how" of the around 100 viticulturists of the province of Granada and the mystery of a soil that has been hidden for centuries. It also important our dry and mountainous climate that protects the plants from any type of fungi allowing the minimum use of treatments in the vineyards.
